It is so hard to believe that this is the last week
of the 2003-04 school year. It feels
like only yesterday that I came to Princess Anne. I want to start off by thanking everyone for making my first year
at Princess Anne, and my first year as a Principal, such a wonderful and
rewarding experience. I have learned a
lot, laughed a lot, cried a little, and feel as if I am leaving this place a
better person for having been here for awhile.
Our students this year have had many wonderful
experiences, both in and out of the classroom.
As I finished reading the final set of report cards, it was great to
read of the academic progress that all of the students have made. Both students, and their families, are to be
commended for the commitment they have made to their education. I would encourage families to continue to
foster that love of learning throughout the summer by exploring the nature
around them, visiting the local public library, and having a family games night
once each week. Not only will these activities
keep the lifelong learner focused but they will also create memories that last
a lifetime.
I wish everyone a very healthy and happy
summer. Be sure to enjoy the fresh air,
relax, rejuvenate, and have fun! Best
wishes to everyone as they start their new journeys in the fall!

school career for our Grade 7 students.
I would like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate all of
our Grade 7 students. I am confident that

this club and ensuring our students receive their ribbons throughout the year.
The Virtue for the month of May has been friendliness. Friendliness is defined as . . . being a friend. It is taking an interest in other people. It is going out of your way to make others
feel welcome or to make a stranger feel at home. When you are friendly, you happily share your belongings, time,
ideas, and feelings. You share the good
times and the bad time together.
Friendliness is the best cure for loneliness.

Congratulations to all our students This is an outstanding number of students
recognized for exemplary actions!
The Student Leadership Team finished the year off
with three very successful events. Our
Backwards Day was cause for a few strange looks and some uncomfortable shirts,
but fun was had by many. By the end of
the day we almost had figured out how to do everything backwards.
The Gr. 4 7 students thoroughly enjoyed the movie
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
This trip was well received by all, students, staff, and parents alike!
The final event for Student Leadership was the Gr. 4
7 dance, held last week. We brought
in a DJ for the afternoon and had a great time dancing up a storm for two
hours. It was great to see so many
students moving to the music, having fun, and getting fit, all in one way to
go!
Well done to all those who participated in our Zone
Track and Field Meet. The day was a
cold one, with rain really dampening the end of the meet, but everyone stuck it
out, put in their best effort, and didnt even complain too much about the
weather. Hats off to each and every one
of you.
Congratulations to the students who made it to the
District Track and Field Meet. Making
it to this meet is a huge accomplishment and you are all to be commended for
your hard work! Our District Meet
representatives were:
Hayden
Kirkpatrick
Harrison Grant
Connor Robertson
Angus Brookes
Zac Creighton
Katriana Tarala

Thank you to all the students, staff, and families
who donated their empty drink containers to our recycling program. This year alone we have raised over $400.
which was used for various projects and equipment around our school. Special thanks to Kelly Schmidt, Mrs.
Harvey, and Ms. Shade for helping to collect and sort them into the correct
bins. This project helped make our
school green and gave us extra money for special events. - Mrs. Wenner
Princess Anne Grade 7 class and Daisy the Cow say
thank you for participating in the Island Farms Daisy DollarsProgram.. We
have been doing this project for over 5 years and each UPC code, cut off
participating products, has earned us a minimum of $.03 each towards the year
end celebrations plus other items. We
really appreciated the support of, and would like to thank, Mrs. Harvey and Ms.
Shade for helping to cut the codes off the school milk containers to make it
easier to count and process them. Have
a moovalous summer vacation.
- Mrs. Wenner
Please take special note of the attachment to this
newsletter highlighting information around fire safety in the summer. In light of last summer, we are hoping to
prevent any fires being started by human error, by ensuring that everyone is
well-educated about the risks of fires in the hot and dry summer. Please take a few minutes to go over this
information with everyone in your family and help prevent forest fires!
Our International Student Education Department is
currently in need of loving, supportive homestays in your area for
international students arriving in September for the new school year. We require the students have a private
bedroom furnished to include a desk and chair, bed, dresser, etc.. The students wish to be integrated into your
family and enjoy all the activities, conversations, etc. of day to day
life. The primary goal is to learn
English.
If
you are interested in hosting a student, please contact the following person
for more information:
