An Overview
Our Learn@Home 8-12 program provides a flexible means for learners of all ages to work towards their BC Dogwood Diploma and/or to upgrade their high school courses. Learners may take a full complement of courses or individual courses. All our courses have been developed by BC Certified teachers and have been designed to successfully address the BC Ministry of Education's prescribed learning outcomes. Each course is led by a BC Certified teacher who is responsible for the planning, teaching, assessing, and reporting for the course. Parents (of school-aged students) are invited to work cooperatively as home-instructors under the direction and guidance of School District 68 teachers.
Learn@Home programs are teacher directed and involve frequent interaction between student and teacher, including lessons, presentations, and scheduled face-to-face meetings. Unlike correspondence courses which often see students working in isolation, Learn@Home programs offer students opportunities to interact with fellow learners and their instructor during online and site-based activities.
