Thrifty Foods Smile Card Program
Our school participates in Thrifty Foods' Group Smile Card Program.
How the program works is that each family at our school is issued a Thrifty Foods Smile Card which has been registered in the name of Hammond Bay School. The Smile Cards remain with the families to be refilled and reused as long as the families want to participate in the program.
Prior to groceries being rung through at the till, cardholders 'load' the Smile Card with funds by whichever means is most convenient: cash, debit or credit card. The groceries are rung through and paid for with the Smile Card.
5% of all amounts loaded onto the Hammond Bay Smile Cards come back to our school.
Please keep track of the 19‑digit card number on the left side of the card and the 6‑digit security code number on the right side of the card in the event of loss.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I still be able to collect credit card air miles?
Absolutely! There are many familes at our school who pay for groceries on credit card in order to accumulate air miles. By loading your Hammond Bay Smile Card with your credit card you will still receive all applicable air miles and our school will receive 5% of all amounts loaded.
What should I do if my Smile Card is stolen or lost?
If your Smile Card is ever lost or stolen simply phone Thrifty Food's Customer Service Line at 1‑250‑544‑1234, give them your card number, and they will replace the card, including any remaining balance.
How can I check the balance on my card?
You may check the blance of your Smile Card at Thrifty's website: http://www.thriftyfoods.com then go to "Our Services" and then to "Smile Cards".
Can a family have more than one Smile Card?
Absolutely! Everyone in your family who shops at Thrifty Foods should have a Hammond Bay Smile Card. Requests for additional Smile Cards should be directed to Jennifer Therriault (jent.telus.net).
Are friends allowed to use Hammond Bay Smile Cards?
Absolutely! If you have a friend or neighbour who shops at Thrifty Foods on a regular basis, why not ask whether they would consider supporting our school by using a Hammond Bay Thrifty Foods Smile Card. Requests for additional Smile Cards should be directed the office.
Can Hammond Bay Smile Cards be used for home delivery?
No. Unfortunately, Hammond Bay Smile Cards cannot be used for home delivery service.
What happens if my card gets demagnetized?
You should try to keep your cards away from magnetic surfaces. However, if your card gets demagnetized, a Thrifty's cashier is still able to access any remaining amount by keying in the card number located on the back of the card.
1. Load the Smile Card prior to your groceries being rung in at the check-out till. You can load it at the till or at Customer Service for any amount and pay by credit card, debit or cash.. 2.
