If…Then… Poems

If I had a boyfriend,

Then I would love to snuggle.

If I were to snuggle with him,

Then he might feel too constricted.

If he felt too constricted,

Then he might break up with me.

If he broke up with me,

Then I would cry.

Danica, 12

If I had some money,

Then I would go shopping.

If I went shopping,

Then I would get clothes.

If I got clothes,

Then I would get hair stuff

If I got hair stuff,

Then I would have no more money.

Courtney, 12

If I had a million dollars,

Then I would buy a candy store.

If I bought a candy store,

Then I would get cavities.

If I got cavities,

Then I would have to pay money.

If I have to pay money,

Then I would have no more money.

If I had no money,

Then I would not be a millionaire.

If I am not a millionaire,

Then this poem would have no meaning.

If this poem had no meaning,

Then I should stop writing!

Melissa, 11

If I had 10 million dollars,

Then I would buy a tumble-down shack.

If I bought a tumble-down shack,

Then I would buy a Jetta.

If I had a Jetta,

Then I would blow it up.

If I blew it up,

Then I would buy a cup and ask for money.

If I bought a stick and a rag,

Then I would put my clothes in it.

If I bought a pencil,

Then I would spring up in the air.

If I had $2.00,

Then would buy a slushie.

If I was a hobo,

Then I would be a poor homeless bum with $10.000.000.

Devon, 11

If my cat climbed the curtain,

Then the curtain will be ruined.

If the curtain was ruined,

Then I would be upset.

If I was upset,

Then I will send the cat to the bathroom.

If I sent the cat to the bathroom,

Then it would climb the Tweedy-bird shower curtain.

If my cat climbed the tweedy-bride shower curtain,

Then the curtain would be ruined.

If the curtain was ruined,

Then I would get mad at my cat.

If I got mad at my cat,

Then my cat would go OUT SIDE!!!!!!

Natasha 12

If I could visit my Grandma,

Then I would not let her go.

If I didn’t let her go,

Then she would have to come to school.

If she came to school,

Then I would have an A++++.

If I got an A+++,

Then I would get a job.

If I had a job and made lots of money,

Then I would be rich.

If I was rich and could have what I wanted,

Then I would have every thing.

If I had everything,

I would be cool and people would like me.

Shawnna, 12

If I had a wish.

Then I would wish for powers.

If I had powers,

Then I would do whatever I wanted.

If I could do whatever I wanted,

Then I would make gold.

If I could make gold,

Then I would give it to the homeless.

If I gave it to the homeless,

Then I would make them a house.

If I made them a house,

Then I would get them a job.

If I got them a job,

Then I would say, “Good luck, old friends!”

Brydon, 12

If I were a doctor,

Then I would save somebody’s life.

If I saved somebody’s life,

Then I would be happy.

If I were happy,

Then I would save lots of people’s lives.

If I saved lots of people’s lives,

Then I would be a famous doctor.

If I were a famous doctor,

Then I would be a rich doctor.

If I were a rich doctor,

Then I would build very big hospitals.

If I built very big hospitals,

Then I would save more and more people’s lives.

If I saved more and more people’s lives,

Then I would have lots of happiness.

If my dog was not loud,

Then I would wear them to school.

If I wore them to school,

Then everyone would say, “Nice boots!”
