Section H: Travel


The project

    1. Choose a country from the list above. Each students must choose a different country.
    2. This part of the research will be stapled and kept in the folder as reference. It must include:
                a. A title
                b. A map of the world in black ink with your country highlighted in colour
                c. A large map of the country including:    (most map on Internet will have these included)
                                  i. A title
                                  ii. A legend (colour code resource)
                                  iii. Provinces or States
                                  iv. Key cities
                                  v. Resources
                                  vi. Key bodies of water
                                  vii. Key transportation routes
                d. Population
                e. Other languages spoden and by how many people
                f. Year-round temperature
                g. Political situation
                h. Major industries
                i. What they import and export
                j. Monetary system
                k. Education system
                l. Type of clothes they wear
                m. Type of food they eat
                n. Why do they speak French
                o. Proper reference page listing books and URL used


Presentation

   1. The written presentation must be in the form of a Travel section of a newspaper.
    2. Maximum 2 pages and typed (font size 14).
    3. It must include coloured pictures, graphs or tables.
    4. The oral presentation must be complimented by at least two visual aids.
    5. At the end of the oral presentation, compare your country to Canada by selecting one or more facts
         and explain their similarities and differences.

Timeline

    About two weeks. The basic research must be completed and presented before the start of Unit 1.
