What is the
project
The project
Presentation
1. Each student will receive a folder
to remain in the classroom. Throught the semester, the completed parts
of the project will be added
to the
folder.
2. Each student will be choosing a
different French speaking country to research during the semester.
3. At the beginning of the semester,
students will gather general information about their country (maps,
temerature, economy, politics,
education, the reason why they speak French, other
language spoken).
4. During the semester, students will
use their country to research and present different sections of a
newspaper on the topic of each
of the
six Units of the textbook.
5. At the end of the semester, students
will present their research in the form of a newspaper.They will also
prepare a short questionnaire
based on
their newspaper.
These newspapers can then be used as readers for French students
enrolled in lower grades.
6. The research project will also be
presented to the rest of the class.
7. The project will be written and
presented in French.
8. Each section of the newspaper must:
a. Be typed (font 14)
b. Look realistic and be representative of the country
c. Include pictures and ads on each pages
Timeline
1. The parts of the project prepared
and presented for each Unit of the textbook will be completed before
the end of each Unit and
mark at
that time.
2. The final project will be prepared
during the semester. It will be presented and marked by the last week
of the semester.
Evaluation
1. The parts of the project prepared
and presented for each Unit of the textbook will be recorded as part of
the Unit mark.
2. The final project and presentation
will be recorded as a final project mark.
3. Marks will be determined according
to the appropriate Rubric (Oral or Written).
