How
to translate a text from English to French
1. Change from Future
tense >>>> to Near
Future >>>> then translate
Example:
I will travel >>>> I am going to travel >>>> Je
vais voyager
2. Change from Passive
voice >>>> to Active
Voice >>>> then translate
Example:
The road is traveled by the people >>>> The people travel
the road >>>> Les gens voyagent sur la route
3. Passé Composé: Agreement of
the past participle
Avoir: The past participle agrees with the direct object if
the direct object is place before the verb.
Example 1: J'ai aimé la route
"Aimé" does not agree because the direct object
"route" is placed after the verb.
Example 2: La route, je l'ai aimée.
"Aimée" agrees with "route" because it
is placed in front of the verb.
Etre: The past participle agrees with the subject. These
are the verb from Mrs Dr Vandertrampp's list.
