1. Keep your course outline in the front of your book so you will always know where we are and where we are going!

2. Be aware that you will be quizzed daily on the previous days work.
   • To be fully prepared for the quiz you should complete the assigned homework.
   • If you are late for class you will get no extra time to complete the quiz. If you arrive after the quiz is over, you will get zero unless you have a note explaining your tardiness.
   • If you are absent when a quiz is given, your quiz mark for that day will be omitted.
   • You should write the quiz even if you were away the day before as it is good practice. If you do poorly, your mark will be omitted (i.e. not count).

3. You will be assigned homework each day!
   • You will do a summary of each days lesson in your own words which I will collect twice a week.
   • Every day I will check your entire homework assignment for completion.

   • Please note that all homework assignments are posted on my web page which is on the Dover Bay web site. If you are away or forget what the assignment is, you can look it up. The Dover Bay web address is: http://schools.sd68.bc.ca/dove/welcome.htm

4. Attend class regularly!! If you are away:
   • bring a note from home explaining your absence (even if your parents phoned the school).
   • check the homework board in the classroom or my webpage for the assignment(s) you missed and get caught up as soon as possible.
   • be prepared to write any missed test on your return .
   • If you know ahead of time that you will be away, please let me know so I can give you the assignment you will miss.
   • Try not to schedule appointments during math classes if possible as we cover a lot of material quite quickly.

5. Get to class on time!! If you are late:
   • knock once then wait quietly until I let you in
   • you will get a detention for every minute you are late from the time I let you in (e.g. if you are 5 minutes late you will receive a 5 minute detention.)
   • You will have until the following week to pay off the detention. If you do not do so, you will be assgined a 30 minute detention. If you do not serve that, you will be referred to the administration.

6. Come to class with all necessary materials:
   • binder with all notes and handouts
   • textbook
   • scientific calculator
   • pencil, eraser, pen

7. Come and get extra help when you don't understand what we are doing in class. I am available most days after school and once a week at lunch. Please come in as soon as you start getting lost. The longer you leave it, the harder it is to get caught up. Let me know that you are planning on coming in so I can be sure to be there for you or schedule another time if I am not available that day.

8. Be aware that you must attend on the day the term exams are written. You will only be allowed to write it late if you were seriously ill. Please contact me via voice mail if this is the case.

9. Parents note: I post marks to my website on a regular basis (usually a couple days after a unit exam they will be updated). See above for the web addresss. To view your son/daughter's mark follow the directions and type in their block number and 6 digit student number together (no spaces) e.g. 4462357
