The student shall:
- Develop a basic understanding of English Grammar
- Recognize the various parts of speech
- Demonstrate an understanding of sentence structure
- Demonstrate the ability to compose properly constructed paragraphs
- Use correct punctuation on all assignments
- Be familiar with the three major genres of writing: expository, narrative and descriptive
