English 11 is the entry level senior English course in the graduation
program. English 11 attempts to develop student's literacy skills to a
level expected for entry into English 12 and for pre-graduation; for more
detailed information on the skills and learning outcomes of English 11
see the link on Mr. Companion's web site for the Ministry of Education
Prescribed Learning Outcomes. In Mr. Companion's classes most or all units
are accompanied by a detailed agenda of the day to day expectations as
far as assignments are concerned; these agendas, or advanced
organizers are the basis in which students and parents are informed
as to future assignments and expectations; the advanced organizers are
given out in class but also are available on Mr. Companion's web site.

These five form the core content in Mr. Companion's classes; there will
be a number of other focuses either as separate studies or as integrated
parts of the above; examples are grammar studies, vocabulary exercises,
proper English usage exercises. The basic grading for all English course
at Dover Bay is as follows:
