5. How much does LXR Test 5.1 cost?

LXR Test which ranges from personal edition single user ( $277) to the 'Cadilac' Interactive scoring edition site licence which costs approximately $ 2300.
6. Do I need any supporting software to make up math tests?
Note: all prices as of Oct./95 in Canadian $s
Yes, but the software can be used for other activities also. You will need an equation editor; Mathtype is a popular program which costs
$189 (windows or mac) . Theorist ($263) and Expressionist are two other equation editors.
You will also need a graph generating program. For Mac, Zap-a-graph is popular ( $119) and for Windows Graphmatica is a shareware program. ( $25 US ).
You will also need a paint program. Macs come with Macpaint (I think?) While Windows provides Paintbrush free. These are both inferior paint programs but are fine to start with. Canvas is a good paint program. ($219)
You might like a good program for getting accurate geometric diagrams. Geometer's Sketchpad does this and a whole lot more! ( $238)
7. What is interactive LXR?
Interactive LXR is a great piece of software which allows us to use LXR Test with our classes in an interactive setting. That is the kids do practice and scored tests directly on computers which may be stand alone or networked. In fact, you can give your students the interactive student module to take home and use
on their own home computers along with any interactive tests which you have created.
8. Scored Testing with LXR
Interactive LXR Test can be used to 'spice up' your techniques of reviewing and testing. Scored interactive test results be imported directly into Remark or Integrade mark books as well as many other electronic gradebooks. Note: scored testing may be done interactively or on mark sense cards such as Scantron cards.
