WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2009

SENIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL
There will be open gym tomorrow night from 7-9 pm for any grade 11 & 12 girls who want to play basketball this year. Please see Mr. Nelson if you cannot attend or have any questions.

WRESTLING
It's the wrestling team's first girls only practice!! Today from 6:30 - 7:30.

GRADE 8 BOYS BASKETBALL
All Grade 8 boys interested in playing basketball this year meet in Room E105 at lunch today.

CAN DRIVE
Trick or Eat! This year, Dover Bay is having a Halloween can count. Instead of collecting candy, why not collect cans so that the less fortunate can eat. While you go around trick or treating ask if you can get cans instead for Dover Bay's annual can drive. On Monday, November 2nd, there will be a can count.

MATH CONTEST CLUB
The first Math league monthly math contest will be written today at lunch in room D204. Reminder to bring your calculators as they are O.K. on this one.

YEARBOOK
Hey all you artists! The yearbook is looking for an original piece of art to put on the cover. The Artist chosen will receive a free yearbook. Details are in Ms. Domino's room.

GRAD WRITE UPS
Attention all Grade 12's. You must get your grad write-ups in by this Sunday! There will be no lates accepted! Hand them into the office or E104, Mrs. Domino's class room!

IMPORTANT GRADE 12 NOTICE
All Grade 12's need to sign up for a grad photo session which will be held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sign up sheet is in the main office. Also a Session envelope in the office must be picked up to put the $50 deposit in. If you do not order photos once they arrive, you will have your deposit returned to you.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Volunteers are needed to help the Vancouver Island Symphony on November 4 with their Chicks & Chocolate event. If you are interested please come to the Career Centre in C100.

A modern glass bottle would take 4000 years or more to decompose - and even longer if it's in a landfill.

GRADE 9 GIRLS BASKETBALL
There is a meeting today at lunch in Room D210 for any girls that plan to play on the Grade 9 Girls Basketball team this year.

BASKETBALL SKILLS GRADE 8 JR. GIRLS
Basketball skills sessions will begin Wednesday October 21 at 7:20 am and at 8:10 am. Questions or concerns please come to D212 at any lunchtime.

GRADE 8 BOYS BASKETBALL
All Grade 8 boys interested in playing basketball this year meet in Room E105 at lunch this Wednesday.

WRESTLING
Wrestling practices start today. All practices are on the stage, bring clean runners and wear shorts or sweats and a t-shirt. Boys and girls are welcome - especially if you are small! New this year are novice only practices Mondays and Thursdays from 6-7pm. Advanced practices are Mondays and Thursdays from 7-8pm. Also new this year is a girls only practice on Wednesdays from 630 to 730pm. See you Monday!

WEIGHT LIFTING TEAM
There will be a meeting at lunch on today in the weight room for all students who are interested in joining the school weightlifting team. The team is open to both boys and girls grades 8-12.

GRADUATION TRANSITION STANDARDS
The following January Grads need to see Mr. Dendes about their Graduation Transition Standards. Chad Belanger, Krista Corsie, Rosie Fairweather, Jonathon Gravelle, Rikki Harder, Kristina Ruddick, Jorge Sansall, Arash Sultani, Janine Wilson.

ECO FACT OF THE DAY
To produce each week's Sunday newspapers, 500 thousand trees must be cut down.
