RUN FOR THE CURE
Congratulations to the approx 25 runners who came out to represent Dover in the Run for the Cure last Sunday. Dover Bay has always shown excellent support for this important event and this year was no exception. Thank you to Team Captain Matt Walker for his enthusiasm and to assistant captain Kelsea Fielden for all her hard work. A special congratulation goes to Elise Boulanger for an excellent run placing 2nd overall in the women's category.
SENIOR BASKETBALL
All boys interested in playing Sr. Basketball meet in Room E203 at lunch today.
VARIETY NIGHT
Now, it's your chance to participate in the Variety Night! Auditions are today at lunch and after school.
PHOTO RETAKES
School Photo Retakes will be on Wednesday October 14 in the morning. You must bring your order form in to get a retake.
GRAD PHOTOS:
Grad photos will take place on October 23rd - 26th. Sign up sheets will be available next week.
ABORIGINAL EDUCATION
The Aboriginal Leadership and Cultural meeting scheduled today at lunch has been cancelled. The meeting will be rescheduled for next week.
2010-2011 FRANCE-CANADA EXCHANGE
There will be an information meeting for students in next year's France-Canada exchange this Wednesday, October 7th at 2:00 in room E211. The summer exchange will be in July and August 2011 and the school year exchange will be for 3 months in each country. Please see Ms. Mazzarotto in E211 for more information or a permission slip.
PEER TUTORS IN BLOCKS 1 & 2
Mr. Dendes' Peer Tutors need to stay in their placements this Friday as Mr. Dendes will be away.
VIU CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE
Join students and faculty from VIU for a presentation and panel discussion on the science and implications of climate destabilization as part of “Power to Change” week. The conference will be held tonight at 7-9 pm at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre, Nanaimo River Room. All Dover Bay students are welcome.
STARLIGHT FILM FESTIVAL
Are you interested in going to the Starlight Film Festival this year? It will be Friday October 16 from 12 am til 6:30 am at the Galaxy Theater. There will be movies, munches and games so come on out. It's open to high school students only. Tickets are $20 each and will be selling starting later this week.
