MONDAY, JUNE 5, 2006

TRACK

Congratulations to the track and field team on an outstanding Provincial Meet. Emma MacCorquodale won the hammer throw and Kaylee Hansen was third. Brett Montrose was second in the 400, Doug Oxland third in the 1500 and Katelyn Currie fifth in the 1500 and sixth in the 400 m. The girls' 4 x 100 m. relay was fourth in their heat.

SPORTS BANQUET

Sports Banquet tickets are still on sale today and tomorrow. Those lime green invitations mean that there is some special recognition coming your way so don't miss out. Remember, ALL athletes are welcome to come and have the roast beef dinner and enjoy the evening.

RUGBY

There will be a brief rugby meeting in E105 at lunch today for all grade 8's who played rugby in the fall.

JUNIOR GIRLS' SOCCER TEAM #1

Meeting today in E104 at 11:30 regarding the season wind-up.

Please return your jerseys to Ms. Garrard and purchase your Sports Banquet ticket ASAP.

CAPE SCOTT HIKERS

Cape Scott hikers meet at lunch on Tuesday and hike Tuesday after school.

OUTDOOR VOLLEYBALL

Outdoor volleyball on the Dover Bay upper fields on Tuesday, June 6th and 13th from 3:15 - 4:30. Everyone Welcome!

LIBRARY BOOKS

ALL library books are now overdue. Books were due back last Friday so please return all library books today in order to avoid fines.

ENCOUNTERS WITH CANADA

This once in a lifetime opportunity allows youth from across the country to come together in Ottawa and live a week of unforgettable memories. If you are interested in Encounters with Canada for the next school year, you must visit the Career Centre this week, as there is a deadline drawing near for registration. There are also very limited numbers of seats, so get your application in now!!

STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS

All students and student council members, who are interested in an executive position for next year, please see Mrs. Harrison for an application form.

Would all members of the grade 7 dance committee please come to the executive meeting today at lunch in Ms. Mazzarotto's room.

McGIRR FUN FAIR

McGirr's annual Fun Fair will be taking place on Friday, June 9th from 4:30 - 8:30 pm. There will be go-carts, laser tag, bingo, dunk tank, and many, many other fun activities. This year we'll be having a climbing wall from the Romper Room. Anyone under the age of 18 requires parental signature to climb the wall. Waiver forms can be picked up at the Dover Bay office. Hope to see you all at McGirr on the 9th.

STUDENT PARKING PASSES

ALL student parking passes are to be turned in to Mr. Ward on or before this Friday.

SUPERHOST CERTIFICATES

SuperHost Certificates can be picked up in the Career Centre for students who took the SuperHost course on May 16 & 17th
