November 24, 2009 Meeting Minutes

 

Present: Ms. Susann Young, Sandra Newton,  Brenda Stupich, Kathryn Stevens, Debbie Thexton, Nicole Altmannshofer, Sandra Marquis and Linda Landry

 

1). Approval of agenda: Debbie moved to accept the agenda, Kathryn seconded.

 

2). Approval of minutes: Debbie moved to accept the October meeting minutes, Kathryn seconded this motion.

 

3). Correspondence: nothing to report

         

4). Reports

          a). CCSES: Frank Garnish will e-mail CCSES report in January.  

 

b). DPAC:  Brenda has not heard from rep Tiffany at South Wellington school.

 

          c). Bingo: There is nothing on the bingo website yet. Received correspondence from Harbour City Bingo, Sandra to reply with note: given the changes this year, we are reapplying. Wondering when we’ll receive money? April? Our last sum was in April/09.

 

d). Principal’s:

·        Custodian letter, Susann contacted David Green. Daytime custodian is to start immediately with 4hrs. What time of day is best? Perhaps right after lunch. We do not have to send our letter.

·        Shayne Koyzan, author & poet, performed at a school-wide assembly with the message of self esteem and anti-bullying. The kids loved him.

·        Many volleyball teams competed at the district and Island tournaments. Great sportsmanship by all the teams.

·        Intramural activities have started. Basketball season is underway.

·        Last day of classes is December 18, 2009.

·        Grade 11 and 12 students visited VIU. Grade 10-12 will visit the District Career Fair

·        Grad photos Nov. 24-26th.

 

e). Treasurer’s: See attached report. Sandra gave bingo renewal application info package to Nicole for her to read and fill in re: gaming criteria.

 

f). Fun Fair: Read attached report.

                               

                    

5). New Business: No new business.

 

6). Old Business

          a). Prom purchase: approx. $3500 from prom to purchase a small projector screen.

 

          b). 49th receipts: Gave Brenda $125 in vouchers since September 2009.

 

          d). Custodian letter: Answered under principal’s report. Brenda to e-mail.

 

          e). Mel’s letter re: class emergency bags for Earthquake: Melanie not in attendance.

           

            f). Country Grocer receipts: Debbie will collect, count and submit these receipts, thank you, Debbie.
