Important Information

Please review the following information carefully

Booster seats – Under 9 years

Who needs a booster seat? Booster seats are for children:

  • Who are at least 18 kg (40 lb.);

  • Until they are 9 years of age unless they have reached the height of 145 cm (4’9”) tall.

Our family doesn’t drive. Why does my child need a booster seat?
Even if your family doesn’t drive, your child under nine years old or 4’9” now requires a booster seat to travel in any passenger vehicle. That means getting to soccer practice, to a friend’s house after school and on field trips.

Permission Slips

Walking permission slips are included in the student information slips sent home at the beginning of the school year. Please ensure that these are signed and returned in a timely manner. Thank you!

Media releases (permission to use photos etc.) are included on the student information sheets. These must be signed in order to students to be included in special publications, videos, school web page etc.

Medication

If your child requires medication of any variety (including pain meds, inhalers or antibiotics) a form, complete with dosing information, must be filled in at the office. Most medication will be kept under lock and key for safety.

Student Leader Applications

Student Leader applications will be sent home near the end of September for interested students in grades 5, 6 and 7. 2009-2010 will see the introduction of an Olympic Themed Student Leadership project. Student leaders must have parent and teacher approval prior to being accepted into the program.

Electronics

Students are strongly encouraged to leave electronics such as IPods, DS’s and digital cameras at home. The school does not take any responsibility for the security of these items. Digital cameras are not to be used during the school day.

Cell Phones

Cell phones must be turned off and kept in a secure place (IE: student backpack) during school hours. Parents are asked to call the school, not the child directly, if there is an emergency.

Hats

Students will be asked to remove their hats as they enter the building as a showing of respect. We appreciate adults following the same expectations. Hat days are the one exception.
