Flash Web Background
We are going to make up a webpage completely with Flash and a bit of Fireworks. It is going to be for a business that doesn't exist like i.e. game company, sports team but the name must be something you have to make up. i.e. Nanaimo Canucks, Spike (instead of Nike)
- Make up a new folder to save your work called WebFlash in your H:\Web Design\ folder
- Start up Fireworks and make a canvas 760 X 410 in size This will give you a non-scrolling webpage in the most used webpage size in the world. (If you want to print to a paper, it will have to be a bit smaller size) This will be a be Graphic "safe area" dimension for layouts designed for 800 x 600 screens:
- Background must be use Fireworks which divided background in to 2 parts, 1 for menu area and the other will be the webpage information with navigation buttons. The backgrounds must have some aspect of 2 filters on one or both of them .
- Save the background as a background.png in the proper H: drive folder for later use.
- Start up Flash and make the size of the Stage 760 X 410
- Import to the library the file called background.png using 'import into new layer into current scene', leave all the other settings as defaults.
- Drag the background image onto the stage and use the Align Panel as described in the demo to position the background image. You will use the Align Panel a lot more to make sure things a lined up correctly.
- Save your flash website file to your H: drive first calling it your first name, first letter of your last name and the number of the assignment. i.e. Fred Jones would be fredj1.fla
- Now copy that .fla file to the S: drive for marking in the proper folder.
Evaluation: 5 marks
- Name your pages properly - no spaces in file name, no capitals on tags, logically, short names
- Simple backgrounds or background colors which make it easy to read
Hand-In:
- Save your html files on your H:\Web Design\ Assignment 9\ and then drag-and-drop to S:\Wei\Hand In\Period 4\Assignment 9
- MUST include all image files used
