Assignment #13

Flash Web Slide Show

In this exercise we are going to use your assignment 12 and with your Slideshow button to link to your product slideshow.

    1. First download from the net 4 or more pictures related to your business and save them with good names into the same folder as assignment 13.
    2. Open assignment 12 and save as 13.
    3. Import saved pictures in to the library.
    4. Make a new layer called Pictures.
    5. After your last keyframe in the Pictures layer add a blank keyframe for each picture you have in your library.
    6. Select the first inserted blank keyframe in the Pictures layer and add the first picture to the stage.
    7. Select the second inserted blank keyframe in the Pictures layer and add the second picture to the stage.
    8. Continue until you have added all the pictures on the stage in all the blank keyframes.
    9. When you play the flash file it should only go as far as you STOP in the Action layer. (that is okay, we will fix it layer)
    10. Now resize each of the pictures so they are the same size.
    11. Make up a new layer called Slide Show Buttons.
    12. On the Slide Show Button layer place a keyframe on the that layer where the first picture would start.
    13. Now you will make up a FORWARD, BACK and HOME button on only that frame. (Do not make up separate keyframes for each of the pictures on this layer or you will work too hard to make them work)
    14. Now we need to place some action script on the SLIDE SHOW Button you have on your website.
    15. Place a GOTO and STOP on the Slide Show button which will goto and stop on the first of you picture frames.
    16. Now on the ACTION layer place a Keyframe on the timeline where the first picture would be. Then put a STOP action on that frame.
    17. That way when you press on the Slide Show button it should move the play ahead to the first frame of the pictures and then stop there.
    18. Now we have to set up the Forward, Back and Home buttons.
    19. What do you think we would program the Forward and Back buttons with and how?
    20. Now place action script on the Home button under the pictures to move back to frame one on your flash file.
    21. How would you do that?
    22. Make sure it works before you turn it in as per the directions below.
    23. Save your flash website file to your H: drive calling it your first name, first letter of your last name and the number of the assignment. ie Fred Jones would be fredj12.fla
    24. Now copy that .fla file to the S: drive for marking in the proper folder.
