Assignment 8

Time allowed: Approximately 2~3 days

Objective: Using Photoshop to manipulate photo

For this one you are going to take an old house or a "repairs required" house and turn it into a picture-perfect house.

22nd Century Realty has just bought a house. However, they want to put the house on the market as soon as possible, but the house has a few flaws that need to be fixed.
They do want to put the house on the Internet immediately but the contractors haven't finished the project yet. They want YOU to come up with a digital image of what it will look like when the repairs are done.

You are going to demonstrate your skills and fix up a number of problems that the house has.

** I am looking for a natural look. Take your time! **

1. Save an image of a house from the internet. Choose a high-resolution image.
• If you can't find one, use one of the following: fixer-upper house #1 , fixer-upper house #2
2. Things to consider:
• include a nice bright sky (sunny, blue, with some nice clouds)
• remove power lines (the neighbourhood will have underground powerlines)
• remove power poles
• new paint job for the house/stairs/porch
• dress up the porch or the patio if you'd like: lounge chair, windchimes, etc.
• patch up holes, exposed panels
• beautify the lawn (either by removing weeds, or give the house a brand new lawn)


3. Place your name in one of the bottom corners in a color and size that can be easily identified.
4. You will have to save and hand in both before and after files.

When you are ready to hand in the file, save as follows:

• Save your files in your H:\Digital Media\Project 8\
• Now, you need to export the file from .psd to .jpg
• File -> Save As ... choose "jpeg" as your file format and save the files in your H:\Digital Media\Project 8\
• Don't forget to hand in BOTH .psd and .jpg files
• Drag and drop your saved files to S:\Wei\Hand In\DM11\Project 8\
