Chase River Stewardship Program

The PE Department has recently taken a stewardship role over the section of the Chase River that runs past JBCS. We have engaged in such activities as ongoing surface litter removal, in-River clean up during early autumn, and tree planting on the banks in the spring.
The Chase River is a Salmon producing waterway and when healthy, capable of sustaining runs of over 2000 adult Coho Salmon. It is our hope to continue our work on the River in conjunction with Vancouver Island University’s fish hatchery program and begin to see Coho numbers grow in the Chase River.

Leadership and Performance Boys 9/10

This full-year specialy course introduces and develops the leadershp and athletic skills of students who are interested in acquiring techinical, nutritional, coaching and management experiences in sport. This course is open to any student who is seeking to contribute in a positive way to sport within the community and personal goals for themselves.
