Staff and Contact Information
The Aboriginal teacher is responsible for:
- the functioning of the department under the supervision of
Vice Principal Mike Ferguson
- advising senior students about academics
- facilitating Aboriginal services
- implementing district initiatives and projects
- planning and implementation of cultural events
- in-class duties as arranged within JBCS

The Aboriginal Education Assistants’ duties include:
- providing academic encouragement and assistance to
Aboriginal students
- collaborating with teaching staff to ensure student success
- facilitating solutions to student challenges
- maintaining files and documentation
- monitoring attendance
- assisting in planning and implementation of cultural events
